Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Alban Towers were the Washington, D.C. headquarters of supporters of the presidential campaigns of John F. Kennedy, Eugene McCarthy, Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. Its hotel suites were frequented by such celebrities as Bette Davis and Frank Sinatra. During World War II it was discovered that Japanese spies had used the Alban Towers residence of the Japanese Naval attaché as a lookout point to the city as well as a place to tap into official radio frequencies.
Glover Park
Neighborhood named from Washingtonian Charles Glover, an influential late 19th and early 20th century banker and philanthropist. He is credited with the creation of DC's Rock Creek Park system and with an influential role in the creation of Embassy Row through generous land donations. He is also considered the father of the National Zoo and Rock Creek Parkway.

Friendship Heights - Chevy Chase
The name Chevy Chase evolved as part of the real estate development boom on the late 1880s. Newlands a congressman and later a senator, had launched through land purchases, the comprehensive plan of suburban development called the Chevy Chase Land Company.

The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial [Fri 10pm-?]
The FDR Memorial is set picturesquely beside the Tidal Basin midway between the Jefferson and Lincoln memorials. The Memorial honors the 32nd president as one of the great leaders of this country—in the company of Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln—and pays tribute to the jaunty inspiration that marked the unique 12-year span of Roosevelt's presidency.
National Mall
Established in 1965, National Mall & Memorial Parks, between the Potomac River and Capital Reflecting Pool, contains some of the oldest protected park lands in the National Park Service. Congressionally authorized park icons stands, such as the Washington Monument, WWII and Lincoln Memorials stand, and 156 reservations, circles, fountains and other open spaces, all of which serve as the nation’s front yard.

As the Washington Mall area is very spread out, you will need to spend time there in order to visit other memorials, Museums. All are highly recommendable, the Lincoln Memorial, the National Gallerie of Arts, etc...

Jack's Boats [Mon 11am-3pm ]
This boat rental shop on the Potomac River offers a unique way to view many of the city's famous monuments. Rent canoes or kayaks by the hour and glide past the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the Watergate complex. Everything you need is supplied, including life jackets.
Georgetown
Founded in 1751 in Frederick County, Maryland by George Beall and George Gordon as the "Town of George". As the only existing town at the time, Georgetown was the fashion and cultural center of the newly-formed District of Columbia. Today many leading figures in politics, media, and commerce reside in this upper-bracket community, like John Kerry, Madeleine Albright...

Meze Restaurant opened in June 2001 in the heart of Adams Morgan and immediately received critical acclaim for its delicious cuisine, warm ambiance, and friendly service.
